Tree Planting & Care
We will be back in 1 year to check on the health of your tree(s).
In 2 years, we will remove the tree stakes for reuse in our program.
Planting Best Practices
Laramie City Arborist Kyle Peep and University of Wyoming Extension walk through the steps of properly preparing for and planting a new tree.
Watering is Key
Spring (March - May)
If you stored your water bags, re-secure them to your tree(s)
Fill your water bags once a week when temperatures are above 40°
Summer (June - August)
Fill your water bag twice a week.
If soil is dry 1” below surface, run hose for a slow soak.
Fall (September - November)
Fill your water bags once a week until branches are bare
Remove your water bag once branches are bare and resume weekly watering with a garden hose when temperature are above 40°
Winter (December - February)
Soak with hose when temperatures rise above 40° up to once per week
